So Rachel Quirk, a writer at Larian Studios, tweeted that the character of Ethel’s aunt in Baldur’s Gate 3 has an army of her grandmother. Quirke says: “Fun fact – my grandmother’s Aunt Ethel military figure!” Or “Nana Jojo” as we call her.”

The character of Aunt Ethel is a cheerful and independent older woman. She has a strong Irish accent and is not afraid of her ideas. She is also talented in cooking and making medicine.

Overall Quirke wrote the character of Aunt Ethel to honor her grandmother. “My grandmother was a strong but powerful woman,” she says. She was also very funny and had a great sense of humor. “I want to write a book that remembers me personally.”

The Ethel robot figure is a fun and inspiring addition to Baldur’s Gate 3. She reminds me that even the smallest people can be strong leaders.
