Meta announced a new streamlined campaign setup for Advantage+ Sales, App, and Leads objectives. It eliminates the first step of having to choose between Advantage+ and Manual.
But, that doesn’t mean that manual options have been eliminated. When the campaign is created, Advantage+ is automatically turned on. That includes Advantage+ Audience, Advantage+ Placements, and Advantage Campaign Budget.
But you will still have the ability to make customizations. You just won’t need to switch to original audiences to do it.
Customized Targeting
Using Advantage+ Audience, age maximum, gender, and custom audiences are all suggestions. Here’s the old version…
But with the new version, you’ll have the option to uncheck a box to remove these settings as suggestions. By doing so, these will be targeting constraints and Advantage Plus will be turned off.
Here’s an example shared from Meta’s announcement (click it if it doesn’t play in-stream)…
Are They Gone?
It appears that the old terminology for Advantage Detailed Targeting, Advantage Lookalike, and Advantage Custom Audience will be gone. I always assumed these were essentially the same as using Advantage+ Audience with suggestions anyway.
Even if they aren’t technically the same, they were close enough to create unnecessary confusion. Eliminating the outdated group will improve the setup process.
